It says that I usually walk 500 steps between 12 - 1 AM and I know for a fact most of that time is spent laying down.
My steps have been way off all week and I tried changing settings to dominant arm.
Is this a glitch? Why are the steps way waaaay off and how to fix?

Welcome to the forums @yesort.
Thank you for providing the details about this situation with your Charge 6. Thank you for trying to fix it on your own.
Please keep in mind that excess vibration might cause extra steps. Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns.
- Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
- Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
Then check if you continue to experience the same behavior. In the meantime, you can find more useful information about the accuracy of Fitbit devices and how to adjust your stride length and dominant hand settings here, as this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar.
In addition, please confirm if you are using Mobile track. It is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account. On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".
