As of today my Charge 6 won’t charge, won’t synch and I cannot find a way to reset it as the lead doesn’t seem to be responding to the device. What are the options to force a reset if the lead isn’t recognised ?

This help page (<-- click) has the 3 ways that you can restart your Charge 6. Try using the method where you put your Charge 6 on the charging cable, then take it off.
Since you mention that your Charge 6 isn't charging when you attach it to the charging cable, have you checked the charging block to make sure it's good and the pins on the charging cable? Sometimes, the pins get stuck in the down position and your device won't charge.

The device won’t respond to the cable at all so restart that way won’t work. I’ve just managed a restart through the settings function on the device (didn’t know it had one) and it’s now charging and syncing again. Must have been that solar flare that messed it up 🥴😉. Thanks for replying 👍
