I recently started using a Charge6. It has worked well with one exception. In the past week started using some new cardio machines at my local "Y". When I start a session on the machine, my machine heart rate is consistent with what I see on my fitbit. However, after a few minute, my fitbit heart rate soars very quickly to about 170 beats / minute. When I check what the machine for it's heart rate, I see a rate that is about 120 beats / minute. During this time my preserved effort is consistent with 120 beats / minute. I haven't seen these sudden jumps durinbg my walks in hilly areas. Has anyone else experienced this?

This has happened to me as well. I frequently see spikes in heart rate during workouts and thought it might be accurate since I had heart surgery and am still recovering. However, when I attended cardiac rehab I was on a heart monitor during workouts and even though my watch showed spikes the monitor was steady, no spikes. I believe either certain arm movements or skipped heart beats may cause inaccurate readings. My cardiologist also said he hears this concern from many patients.
