Connecting Charge 6

I cannot connect my new Charge 6.   Been a FitBit user for 7 years now and have had frequent connectivity problems but never this bad.    Contacted support and we rebooted the device, rebooted my phone (iPhone with 17.1.1), restarted Blue tooth, removed all devices …. twice with  rep and once again in an email with new (supposedly) instructions.  iPhone 13 and iPad just will not recognize the device.  Has anyone else had same problem?   Could it be 17.1.1?

I went through troubleshooting twice with a Fitbit rep and she couldn’t help.  Said she would escalate it and email me better instructions.   The email instructions were the same as what I did with tech help.   Reboot device.   Remove all other devices from phone.   Reboot phone.   Delete and reinstall app.  2x with rep and once by myself.   It’s either a defect or not compatible yet with iOS 17.1.1 which just came out.

When you say that your phone doesn't recognize the Charge 6. Don't you mean the Fitbit App on the phone?

Your phones Bluetooth is not suppose to find the Charge 6.

Yes i do.   Before it can be seen in the app it has to be connected to the Bluetooth.  The device communicates to your phone via bluetooth and the app connects to FitBit via wifi/internet.

The Charge 6 should shown in your list of Bluetooth devices.  Been using FitBits since 2016 and thats how they all work.  Support even had me checking bluetooth yesterday.

Your fitbit is a Bluetooth Low Energy device, and will need the Fitbit App to pair the fitbit to the phone. Once paired, yes you should see the fitbit device listed in the Bluetooth.

It’s very frustrating.   My Fitbit charge 6 also needs constant reconnecting to the wifi.  And it’s never a simple task!

Sorry @Grammynet I'm not sure what is happening . The Charge 6, just like the previous models, does not have a wifi radio and will not be able to connect to wifi. Your Charge 6 will only connect to your phones Bluetooth
