Yup, I just updated to .31. It took about 4 minutes.

It's nice to not feel completely forgotten. But what about the watch faces that were released for the Charge 5? The ones titled Juxtaposed, Bifrost, Glimpse, and Brisk. I've been holding out for these making it to the Charge 6, they look like the best designed faces of the whole Charge series. Bifrost especially, it's exactly what I want. Why aren't they here, the work is already done! Surely it would be trivial to port them, the hardware is nearly identical!

If only...I wish someone would explain to me what support meant by telling me "We can assure you that you are one update away from receiving the update. And yet I'm at 214.24

I am too. I do not expect an update and will probably always be "one update away". My device and app are sorta working, so maybe I'm better off than some.

Curious where the people who got the update bought it from or serial number series.  Any logic to the "roll out"?

I received the .31 update today, and I bought my Charge 6 to replace my dying Charge 5 about 2 month ago. Activation date Oct 7 2025. When I first activated it, it immediately updated to version .24, and skipped the .21 update.

I bought it from Amazon.com. I don't know where to find the serial number, and I don't think I would post it online anyway.

I would think they have some sort method in order to determine who gets the the updates first. Pretty sure they would have to in order to restrict some and let others get it.

But why would they restrict any?  If you buy a used pixel phone, you keep getting updates every month.  Wonder if they treat Google watches the same way.

The serial number for these is etched in the cavity where the bottom strap goes. Mine came from Amazon. Activation date 2025/02/08. Manufactured 2024.

Fwiw I think it's unlikely that the rollout is based on serial number order, or serial numbers at all. Maybe indirectly by hardware revisions, or organized by blocks of serial numbers. More likely is that they're doing some kind of A/B testing, Google has a history of doing this with betas and software rollouts. If so then who's chosen would be randomized so as to get a representative sample. Could be regional as well.

Your number is complete different that mine.  428291AF6xxx x being digits.

Turns out, my wife just got her update.  Bought at Walmart in Sept.  Mine from Amazon in July (not updated yet).

Got it one month late but it did arrive today. Hope it fixed horrible battery performance, otherwise it will be returned.

After updating I can no longer pair the Charge 6 to my phone. I am available for hire as beta tester, but doing it for free doesn't feel right. Glad I'm not having boot loops like the other person though. that will likely destroy the battery if it loops 24/7 for months when a fix might be released.

I reinstalled the app, cleared bluetooth devices. I can't get into settings of the watch so can't clear data there. No idea what to do other than wait and hope for a fix at some point. Reading thought this thread and forum I am not filled with confidence. I paid a premium price for a below budget experience. Well no experience at all now it will not pair. Smh.

Did you reboot your device and phone?

Not happy. My charge 6 crashed for the first time ever this morning during workout - screen black, then fitbit logo and then restarted. Obviously deleted the workout. This hasn't happened before and I'm concerned it's related to the update yesterday. Has this happened to anyone else?

I suppose they don't want to brick everyone's device at once. I would think they would thoroughly test, release a download, and let people update when they want. That is the way I get most updates and firmware for my other devices.

Hi,

I have rebooted both fitbit and phone many times.

As I am writint this my fitbit is getting updated, hoping to get new watch faces with this new update.

Me too.  I never got charge 5 updates either.  Got a December 3 app update yesterday, nothing changed.  Sleep graph still shows blank space if you edit your wake up time (add an hour because you know when you woke up and got out of bed).  A few months ago it would fill in that space with actual data and update score, so app is getting worse!  Can't believe Google is this bad at updates and software!

And what's odd, my wife got her Charge 6 watch update 2 days ago and is on an unsupported Pixel 4a, while I'm still waiting and sync to a 9a.
