Fitbit Charge 6 & App Sync Issues – Voice Cues & Activity Tracking

I own a Fitbit Charge 6, and while I’m generally happy with the fitness tracker, the integration between the device and the app needs serious improvement.

1. Activity Tracking Issues

When I start tracking an activity from the device, my phone doesn’t recognize it until I’ve completed the session. The biggest issue for me is the lack of voice cues for walking, running, and cycling. I need real-time audio updates for:

  • Total distance
  • Total activity time
  • Time for the last mile/km
  • Heart rate

Some data is available on the device screen, but it’s inconvenient to check while moving.

My previous fitness tracker from another brand handled this seamlessly. The app and device should work as one ecosystem, but they seem disconnected during activities.

2. Cycling Mode Lap Length Issue

In cycling mode, the minimum lap length is 10 miles/km, but I need it to be 1 mile/km.

3. Voice Cues Never Work

Even when I start an activity from the phone app, voice cues still don’t work, despite being enabled in settings. When I tap "Preview Voice Cues", I hear the sample, but they never play during actual activities.

For reference, I’m using a Pixel 8 Pro (fully updated), and my wife experiences similar issues with her Google Watch.

I saw that you submitted at least 1 feature request in the Product Feedback forum (<-- click link). I understand that the developers monitor the Product Feedback forum to see what features are being requested for potential future implementation. 

From what I've read, the devs don't monitor the product help forums. So "voting" for your post here won't reach them.

Please consider replying to this thread with links to your requests. That's how other users can vote for your requests & add their comments in support.
