Fun story: I discovered the hard way that Fitbits dont work with full sleeve tattoos.
About two weeks ago, just after I'd gotten a new sleeve tattoo my fitbit stopped working. Two days pass, three. Do I check what on earth might cause it? Sort of, but just assume its old and it needs an upgrade. Fair enough, I've hard the Charge 5 for ages, Ill gift myself a Charge 6.
Yes of course, it too, does not work. Knowing that Google recently brought the fitbit infrastructure wholly within its own I though it must be some cockup in migration or something.
One short google later and lo and behold, I missed the trees for the forest (of online help forums).
I've worn fitness trackers for over a decade now and I really do rely on them to help me better understand myself, particularly sleep, so a solution had to be found.
After much trial and error, I have found that a wrist band holding it in in place IN THE ONE TINY AREA WHERE I HAVE BARE SKIN does the job.
If you too have full sleeves, hopefully somehow this is the only forum post you find and need: buy a wristband.

Hello @4lfie what a brilliant solution you have. Previous members with a similar problem tried a variety of things to get the heart rate to work properly despite having a lot of inked skin. Several members wore their Fitbit with the sensors on top of the hand. One member used nando tape and said it helped the sensors to read the heart rate. Hope your solution works for others. Thanks for sharing it!
