Hi folks, I’m new to all this Fitbit malarkey. I’ve read a few of the posts on the sleep tracker but after last night’s recording thought I’d begin my own.
I have trouble sleeping through the night. I can be awake for 10mins or 3-4hrs. Over 1 or many more occasions in the night. The sleep tracker seems to track me as sleeping even when I’m lying in bed reading instagram or catching up on my messages.
It also breaks my sleep sessions if I get out of bed for a pee or to reset my sleep with a cuppa & some tele for half an hour. I’m getting my head round that slowly. I’ve tried altering the sleep & wake times & deleting the second sleep session but it throws up an even less accurate reflection of my sleep. I was awake for almost 2hrs & it totally lost that information.
Then there’s the lack of detail. I was under the impression that I hadn’t slept long enough for it to give the specifics of my sleep. Then last night my 2hr 44min sleep was properly recorded but my 4hr 56mins sleep wasn’t. Just got slept, restless & awake details. I’m getting really frustrated with it. I’ve only had it a few months & had hoped when I began wearing it in bed it would help inform my doctors loosely of what’s happening so they can help me improve my sleep but this is just bringing more frustration into my life. If I don’t get a solution soon I’m going to have to ditch it in favour of better mental health!

Hello @Yellowyodie
Another thing you might try is turning your Charge 6 to the inside of your wrist. Some users have reported that they get their sleep data when they wear their Charge 6 on the inside of their wrist.

Good luck. We are all stuck w/ $170 devices that don't track properly. It's either ditch the device or ditch hoping your sleep tracking works. Sucks and I'm struggling w/ this too right now.

I changed my sleep setting to "sensitive". Seemed to work ok last night but i need to test for a few days.

Thanks gals. I worked out sometimes I wake up with pins & needles in my arm & hand so likely that the pulse isn’t available. I’ve put the Fitbit further up my arm a little too & I'm trying not to sleep with my hand under my head. I’ll see how that goes 🫣 So glad I’m not alone though.

If you really just want to demonstrate chaotic unhealthy sleep patterns, it sounds like it is doing its job, despite not having all the info. Realize that for people that sleep soundly, and where getting up is actually getting up, and napping is napping, the algorithm needs to be programmed somehow. If you're too off the rails you just can't be fit into the algorithm. I have the same experience.

I have had the same problem for the last six months and last week made a phone call that took 20 minutes to get a response that only temporarily fixed the problem for 2 days!
---
I also tried that and it got no change!

I have the same problem! And have sent messages to then and even a phone call. It hasn’t been changed yet and they keep telling to remove the app and retsart it! Which I gave done several times for my Charge 6!!
