Getting declined message on Charge 6 Wallet

ANSWERED

Hi there

I am trying to use the Google Wallet function on my Fitbit Charge 6. If i try to use it with an ANZ (New Zealand) Debit card I get:

Declined message on EFTPOS point of sale Terminal.

I have checked this Debit card is set to Default in Google Wallet on my Huawei P20 phone and I have been using it for 3 or more years now.

I have tried with taking the Fitbit Charge 6 of my wrist and holding it close to the terminal but I still get the dreaded Declined message.

Hi there

I am still having issues and get the dreaded Declined: Card not supported message with the ANZ Debit Card.

I have removed, rebooted, re-added (ANZ Debit Card) and rebooted my Fitbit Charge 6.

In the mean time I have added my ASB (New Zealand) Visa Light Credit Card to my Fitbit Charge 6. With the first go, on the exactly the same EFTPOS terminal, IT WORKED!

So there is definitely an issue with ANZ Debit Cards on the Fitbit Charge 6. It IS NOT an issue at Fitbit's end.

Yeh. I can now say the issue IS RESOLVED.

I have been in contact with ANZ Bank NZ via secure mail and phone calls.

The Fitbit Charge 6 DOES WORK with ANZ Debit Cards. I have tested this out with 3 different vendors and 2 different EFPOS machines.

It turns out that EFPOS machine vendors / retail outlets that use them, need TO UPGRADE FIRMWARE to accept newer forms of contactless payment.
