HELP - New Charge Won't Let Me Set Up

Ugh....  I'm starting to regret this purchase already...

My Luxe died, and Fitbit isn't selling them anymore, so I bought a Charge 6.  I charged it to 100%, and went into the Fitbit Mobile app and converted it to a Google account.

But once I took the Charge 6 off the charger, I keep getting a message "Download the Mobile App" over and over.  I already HAVE the mobile app!  I read to hold the side button for 15 sec to reset the watch but that doesn't work!

What's going on?  I thought this was going to be a simple process.  NOT!

@macdebbie   It's been a while since I set up a new device.  So I don't know if what you see is normal or not.  Did you do and/or will you please try the following:

  • Remove the Luxe from your account and from the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone
  • Tap on the device/battery icon in the upper left of your app
  • Tap on Add more devices
  • Tap on Charge 6

Does the set up process start?  I hope this is all the help you need.

Thank you for your help.  It did work, after two tries, but I ended up returning the Charge 6.  Although I loved the functions, it was way too bulky for my small wrist, so I got the only they have now (the expensive gold bracelet one) Luxe instead and am very happy.
