I was in early adopter of the original Charge, I also had a Charge 2 for a while. I had a lot of trouble with the band breaking where it connects to the unit. Managed to get a replacement because it was still in the warranty period, but when the same thing happened with the replacement, FitBit told me I was SOL. Should I buy the 6 or hold out for something better?

Depends on your luck getting any better or not.

Hello @RobinInWF
The Charge 6 has some really nice features. I was a Charge 5 user with the intention of upgrading to the Charge 6. Due to fortunate circumstances, I'm currently using the Pixel Watch 2 as my Fitbit device.
That said, please understand that you are asking your question about the Charge 6 in the Product Help forum. Users come here to get help when they have issues with their device. As a colleague puts it, this forum is like a hospital. As a result, the responses will tend to be more on the negative side. Users who don't have problems with their device rarely post in this forum to share their positive experiences.
Are there particular fitness tracker features you're looking for? That will help us give you feedback so you can make your decision.

When it’s working it is GREAT. But I’ve had issues with 2 now and it’s frustrating to say the least. If it maintained its awesomeness and didn’t mess up then I would highly recommend. My first one the screen blanked black and I returned it. They replaced it and now it’s deleting steps. Just can’t seem to get it to work as it should….. I imagine others are having success with it so luck of the drawer perhaps!!!
Hope that helps.

I had the charge 5 and when I knocked it pretty hard carrying some stuff unfortunately it quit working as it should and warranty said they would send me a new one but - I never got it.
a year later I got another one through my insurance, thankfully. I’m really enjoying it! It shows days I should spend recovering or suggests light to moderate exercise. There are videos which I can mirror or air play to my tv including mindfulness and meditation exercises as well. It has expansions directly on the app that explains what all the different scores mean and in sleep it will tell you what kind of animal you are! Idk if I am just actually paying more attention to the details or my health but I reall Like it better than my Apple Watch! Plus the battery lasts for at least a week or more! It’s so much easier or something and thorough with target zones, excercise duration, sleep patterns and all the different levels they measure and why (plus- what type of animal you sleep like and why!) Your body temp and how it fluctuates. Your readiness score which tells you if you need to rest or push it. Your oxygen saturation…You can also manually log all kinds of stuff- anyways hope that answers your question

Buy it, try it out, and if it's not right for you, return it. I've tested a lot of smartwatches and fitness trackers and it's the best bang for your buck....apple watch can do more things, but a lot of apps cost $ and what I really dont like is that I can only see the info on my watch .... I like to look at things on my notebook. Maybe get from amazon An Amazfit Band 7. Get both and see.....the band 7 is a fraction of the price.

Not sure I’m the best qualified to answer this, since I just got my new charge 6 last night. So far my main problem with it is that I wasn’t actively using a Google account very much since I have an iPhone and use yahoo as my main personal email. I found out today that this device requires you to sign in with Google, and starting sometime next year all users will be required to use Google to login instead of their Fitbit username and password. I was happy with my charge 5 until it suddenly quit communicating with the app last week. A circle with an X appeared on the display and nothing else. It was less than 18 months old. That was the fastest I’ve had a Fitbit die. I’ve been using Fitbit for at least the past 7 years, and they usually last at least 2 years. Support was not able to get it working again, so they sent me a discount code for a new one.
