Heart faster when I sleep on my back?

A weird thing has been happening to me the last few weeks.

I am usually a side and stomach sleeper. I never sleep on my back. However, this past few weeks there have been a handful of times I did accidentally fall asleep on my back (before putting my Fitbit on! Annoyingly). I will wake up a short while later with my heart going really fast and hard. I’ve maybe been asleep 10 minutes. I’ll then realise I fell asleep by accident on my back, and I’ll put my Fitbit on. Then I switch to my side or stomach and my heart is normal again.

Any ideas what is causing this? I don’t have sleep apnea as I had a test done.

Hello @honekgo1

It would be best if you could get actually heart rate data during these periods to confirm what you're feeling. If the data confirms an issue, it would be good to discuss it with your healthcare provider.
