How do I change the language on Charge 6?

Hello. I am in France and I have a Fitbit Charge 6. The device language is French. I would like to change it to English. I visit https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile and set the language as English using the "language by region" menu and selecting Europe (English). Then on the Fitbit app, I sync the device. The device language changes to English. But after a while, it switches back to French automatically without my intervention. I visit the website again and see that the modifications I made are reverted. This happens whenever I try to change the device language. What is the problem and how can I solve it ?

Hi, @Yildiray , I would suggest turning off automatic location in the app.  With auto location set to on it will revert to French.

To turn off automatic location please go to the app, and click on the gear icon top right.  Then choose app settings and location and turn automatic location off and then don’t choose a location.  It also may help to turn off automatic time zone, which you also do under app settings.

I am not certain that this will solve the issue, but it is worth a try.  Let us know if it works!

Hi Julia, after two months of use with these settings, I can surely say that it doesn't work. My device is connected to an IPhone. I set the automatic location off (but the automatic time zone is still on, otherwise it may mess up), language setting remains the same for a while, maybe a day or two, but then it reverts. The device language is French again. I check it on https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile. Language by country setting is set to France (French) per se. I didn't select it. The issue is experienced by other community members as well. I am adding a related link below. So he says when Charge 6 is connected to an Android phone, the device language remains the same (English in France) but when it is connected to an IPhone, it is automatically changed to French in France. There is obviously a bug here.

Julia, I don't know if you are officially related to Fitbit but this is really annoying, it should have a simple setting on device, not on the app, to adjust the language but we are suffering from a broken implementation. Year 2024 and you cannot set device language properly on Fitbit Charge 6. It is a pity !

So what Fitbit is basically being told is that we have to lie to the device and the app to try a get it working. I'm in Portugal and have the same issues, setting everything I can find within the settings to English, but still get half my stuff in Spanish of all things, and mixed Portuguese. As a new owner of a Fitbit Charge 6, I am becoming concerned that this purchase, which I see as not just the tracker, but the whole package is still very much a work in progress and still does not provide the very basics, i.e. language control.

I appreciate this particular topic is a bugbear of mine, being forced into location-specific content that is not in my language, and no easy way to revert or switch to language-specific content. Is Fitbit suggesting that on my trip to Germany later in the year, I will have to navigate the German language as the Charge 6 switches to my auto location? I would also like this resolved as turning off auto location is not the solution, it's a hack...
