How do I set up ECG app on Charge 6?

ANSWERED

Please can someone tell me how to set up ecg? On my fitbit it says ‘set up on phone, got to fitbit app, and go to the discover tab. Find assessments and reports’ then it says ‘can’t find phone’

I have no idea where the ‘discover’ tab is and have never seen ‘assessments and reports’ I do wish they hadn’t changed all the layout.
can someone help?

everything else seems to be working okay although I do keep getting a message on my phone saying unable to access some apps.

Go to the you tab ( 4 squares together)  at the bottom right hand of the fitbit app page on your phone and add a.locarion to your app. Apparently the ecg only works in some.countries. I put in UK :united_kingdom: and it worked straightaway. Hope this helps 🙂

Hello @Lellynelly

It's already been raised to the Fitbit team that the instructions still refer to the "Discover" tab. Where you need to go is the You tab in the Fitbit app for Assessments & Reports.

You might want to confirm that the ECG app was installed. To do this:

  • Tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Today page
  • Tap on the Charge 6 tile
  • Tap on Gallery, then Apps. Scroll down to ECG and tap. If it's not installed, you should be able to install it from this page.
  • Tap on the arrows in the upper left to get back to the Today page.

Even though I don't think it's necessary, you may want to do a manual sync. Hopefully, this should set you up to be able to do an ECG. The resulting report/ECG graph will be found in the You tab. Swipe left under Health Assessments to get to the ECG tile and tap on View History. You should see your results here.

You can tap on the report to view it and export a PDF to share with your healthcare provider, if desired.

I have this exact same issue. Fitbit have been useless in helping to resolve it. I assume we did something in the wrong order when setting up the device and have encountered a bug.

I have so far tried various orders of restarting the device, clearing app cache, manually syncing etc and nothing has worked. The only thing I haven't tried is deleting the app and data from my phone but I don't really want to risk losing data.

The chat bot suggested I delete and reinstall the app. I did actually do it and lost no data, but it didn’t solve the issue

Yeah I tried deleting it too but it doesn’t change anything, I guess all our data and settings are stored with them? I would hope they would be able to reset it from their end but getting through to someone who could actually help has been difficult.

Hello @Lellynelly & @vbee3

I just want to confirm that you are both in countries where the Fitbit app is currently available.

Huh? I’m sorry but I am genuinely confused Reiko. I don’t understand your comment.  Are you asking me to confirm? Or are you telling me that YOU are confirming. But either way I have already answered in my post.
You wouldn’t be telling me that the app is available because I already know, being as I’m using it. And you wouldn’t be asking me if it’s available because I wouldn’t be able to have an app that isn’t available? AND I have already said that everything works fine apart from the ecg, therefore I must already be using it.
Sorry, I’m just explaining why I’m confused, and I’m really not sure what you are trying to say

I am in the US and have the same issue.  Read everything above and confirmed that I have the ECG app on the Charge 6. When I try to use it is says go to phone to set up.  Tried multiple times with Fitbit app on phone already open, opened when it told me to, etc. and I am still not able to use the app.

My apologies @Lellynelly . I meant to say to confirm that you are in a country where the ECG app is available. The list of countries can be found on this page: Irregular Rhythm (<-- click link)

Hello @Biking_Cath

Try tapping on the You tab in the Fitbit app on your phone to open the page. Then swipe to the left under Health Assessments until you see the ECG tile. Tap on the tile and see if it gives you instructions on setting up ECG app.

HALLELUJAH!!! Thank you so much Beckii Taylor. Why on earth couldn’t Fitbit support tell me that.
after 2 months, finally! All I needed to do was physically add my location!
it worked! 😃😃😃. You are a hero!

Read Beckii’s reply below. It worked. I needed to add my location so it knows where I am

Ah, Beckii, you're a star!  And several times better than either of the Fitbit support people I've been speaking to this about over the last few days 😀

The "fix" doesn't work. My phone says ECG is ready to use. It says the alarms for low and high inactive heart rates are on. But, every time I tap the ECG button, it tells me to open my phone and all it shows is the page explaining the 3 possible results.

Did you try the advice above from RiekoC?

It worked for me: "Try tapping on the You tab in the Fitbit app on your phone to open the page. Then swipe to the left under Health Assessments until you see the ECG tile. Tap on the tile and see if it gives you instructions on setting up ECG app."

It finally came on, like 3 hours after I got it. But, "irregular rhythm notifications" is now listed as available and needs to be set up. Punching "set up" takes me to a white page and crashes the app on my phone. Low/high heart rate notification will show me the history page.
