How do I solve the time recording issue with daylight saving?

Is there a solution to Fitbit watches recording the wrong time for exercises and sleep despite the clock being correct?

I have the Charge 5 and ever since the daylight saving time changed all my sleep and exercise records have been shifted by an hour.

My brothers Pixel watch is even worse and we tried a lot of things to solve it, it's shifted by 4 hours.

Both watches tell the correct time, it's just the activity recording that's wrong.

Hello @hanma93

I know that this year's time change to Standard time caused issues for some users. But that seemed to get resolved within a day or so.

Have you & your brother checked the Fitbit app settings to confirm that you have Automatic Time Zone & Automatic location enabled? To check:

  • Tap on your picture/icon (Android) or gear icon (iOS) in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on Fitbit settings
  • Tap on App settings
  • On this page, you can confirm that Automatic time zone and Automatic location are enabled & the time zone is correct. If not, you can turn them on.
  • Tap on the arrows in the upper left to return to the Today page and perform a manual sync

If everything was enabled & correct, you might try turning off Automatic time zone & location, selecting sometime different, and manually sync. Then, go back to the App settings page, enable Automatic time zone & location, followed by a manual sync.

Hopefully, this will correct the time for your tracked sleep & workouts.

You should be able to edit the time of your sleep & workouts in the Fitbit app to show the correct times.
