I'm not even sure of the vocabulary here. I used to be able to exercise and the charge 6 would identify what I was doing (with surprising accuracy!) and log my exercise. Then it started going into some sort of display mode when it did this (I don't want that), but I was able to exit out of it by pressing the button on the side of the watch. If I recall correctly it would still log my workout.
Now, I don't know how to get out of that mode without turning off the exercise tracking. The screen gives me an option to exit, but it turns off the tracking.
Is there a way I can track the exercise but not get bound to the "exercise mode" watch interface? Have it do it in the background, like before? Thank you.

Hello there @dhimes, it is great to see you back!
Thank you for sharing this with us. I'd be glad to help.
Based on your description, this may be expected behavior after a recent update. However, let's try some steps to see if we can revert to the previous functionality.
First, let's try adjusting the duration required to automatically record an activity. In the Fitbit app, please follow these steps:

Thank you @EstuardoFitbit. That doesn't do it. It sounds like it's the new expected behavior. Such a shame we can't opt-in to the experience we want. Oh, well. I turned off something called "Play during exercise" (take a guess what that means- I have no idea!). I got the Chevron looking thing again, but I didn't touch it and things went back to the normal watch face- which is what I wanted. I have no idea if it's luck or whatever, but it worked today.

Hello there @dhimes, nice to see you back!
It's frustrating when updates change things, especially if you liked the old way better. Glad you found a workaround!
Hopefully, your device continues to work the way you like. If the issue comes back, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
