Inaccurate step count on Charge 6

Hi,

I bought Charge 6 only yesterday and I have not had any activity yet and I woke up this morning with 400something steps, this was so not correct.

Could anyone please advise how can I have this reset?

Thank you

Hi @OlgaFra. A warm welcome to the forums.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding your Charge 6.

There are a few reasons why this could happen. If you're sleeping close to something that could emit a certain vibration, like a window, a fan or other type of machine. The only way to negate these extra steps would be to manually log a driving activity, as this would override the data tracked during that time.

If you haven't done so already, please complete a three pulse restart and let me know if you continue to experience the same behavior afterwards:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

If you continue to have this problem, let me know if you have Phone installed on the Fitbit app. This feature allows you to record basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors. That being said, if there was a fan or something vibrating nearby, that might be the reason why you receive these extra amount of steps. Assuming this is correct, I'd recommend removing it by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap the top left side of the screen (watch and phone icon).
  2. Tap Phone: Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.

What are you talking about when you say the flat end of the charger. I see no button

Hello @Roeym

There is a small inset button on the USB end of the charging cable that came with the Charge 6. See picture below:
