I've been watching the discussions here for a few months and there have been some concerning issues since the transition to Google. I haven't used a Fitbit in years, but I've wanted to purchase a Charge 6 because I've had good experiences with Fitbit 5-10 years ago and I've gained some weight and need the accountability. I need something with GPS to track my outdoor runs, heart rate, steps & movement reminders, with an app that has a decent community and the ability to track my food & weight. I remember the food tracker being really good years ago. For those who still use Fitbit, do you think these features have stood the test of time? If not, do you have suggestions on other trackers that I should research?

Hi @mannap36 I've used Fitbit products for over ten years and yes, it is still a good tracker. My newest device is the Inspire 3, which does all you mentioned and it's a good device. I'm still using my Fitbit account, as I don't need to transition to a Google account until next year. It's really hard asking on a forum if people like Fitbit, but you'll get varying replies. Many of my Fitbit friends don't visit the forums because they are happy and out stepping about. You'll find many on the forums are not content and they will tell you their story. If you want to see what's good, check with a trusted source. I go to Consumer Reports and they still give high marks for these devices. Whatever you do, it's important that you choose the device that best suits your needs. It's like a movie. A review for a movie might say it's terrible, but when I see it, I think it's great. Sort of the "eye of the beholder" type thing, isn't it? Whatever you do, you'll pick out the right device and you'll be going forward on your journey.

Whilst I agree with what odyssey 13 says about doing what you think best, it may be a different story next year when they have to change to a google account, I have used Fitbit since 2010 and always been very happy with them, unfortunately at the end of last year I decided to upgrade to charge 6 and I can honestly say it was the wrong thing to do, I had to change to a google account and there is obviously a big problem with it, I am just about to send my replacement back for a second replacement because they are refusing to give me money back, out of the 4 months I have upgraded, the 2 charge 6 I have had have only worked properly for about 1 week. In my opinion until google get their app sorted it would be a complete waste of money to purchase a new Fitbit. I am sure there are others out there that can do the same job without the frustration

@mannap36 for some things yes, for others not. GPS, HR during running (or if your use-case is sport-centred) - look for something else. Other things (health stuff) - should be ok.
