Manually entering steps

When I use the elliptical machine, my fitbit does not pick up the steps and when I manually enter a workout, it only lets me put in time and calories, but my steps are still way behind.  Is there any way to manually enter steps or fix this?

When I look at the metrics tracked in an Elliptical activity, steps isn't listed. That would explain why you're not seeing steps for your workout. 

You might consider tracking your Elliptical session using the generic Workout activity. I know that tracks steps as one of the default metrics.
