My Charge 6 is doubling my steps

For the last week or so, my Charge 6 is doubling, sometime more than doubling, my steps. It is not connected to my phone to count steps and I have updated the app. It is still doing it. Any other thoughts?

No response and no reply from Fitbit.. Wow, thanks, Fitbit. I think I’m ready to switch to a different company.

I appreciate your message, and I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 6 is doubling your steps. 

This is not the experience wanted for our customers, and I totally understand your feelings about this situation.

That article was all well and good, but it doesn’t explain why the device I’ve been using for a year has suddenly in the last several weeks started doubling my step count. And it certainly doesn’t fix it.
