My Fitbit Charge 6 - Walk not showing map

Why would a walk not use GPS and provide a map? Has the exercise changed recently?

What do I need to do to go for a walk now and log where I've been?

Also how can I get rid of all of these exercises I will never do. Like Skiing and Kayaking etc. You used to be able to modify the list. But I can't find anywhere to do that any more. On the device or on the Android App 😞

Hi, @FitUserNP , there are 3 ways of recording exercise on your Fitbit:

- you can rely on SmartTrack, which automatically records an exercise for you, depending on your settings in the app.  If your walk is recorded using SmartTrack, GPS will not be turned on and you will not get a map or info on your distance.

- you can manually start your exercise using the app on your Fitbit, and with GPS turned on you will get a map (as long as GPS can connect

- with the newer trackers, such as your Charge 6, you can set your exercise app to automatically start tracking .  That way you get the automatic benefit of SmartTrack, without the limitations : GPS can be turned on automatically and you will get a map at the end, and you do not have to remember to start or stop your activity.

To use the third option, please check the settings on your Charge 6: go to the exercise app on the watch, find walk and tap to open, but instead of pressing the start icon, swipe up.  There you will find the settings available for the activity.  Make sure GPS is toggled to on, and Auto start and auto stop.  That way you should get a map without manually starting your walk.

You are correct in thinking that you can no longer delete or reorder the activities in the exercise app on the Fitbit.  However, your most recent activities should always appear at the top of the list so that hopefully you won’t ever need to scroll through activities that you don’t use.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!
