I am wanting a fitness watch, as I am getting more into fitness (running, hiking, yoga) and want to track my activities.
I have really small wrists, so I am not interested in a chunky watch like Garmin. As well, I don’t want to use it for social media or messages at all, so I am not interested in an Apple Watch.
However I am reading lots about people not wanting to use Fitbit after January 2026 because of Google? What is going on with Google?
Is it worth me buying a Charge 6? I only want to use a fitness watch for tracking fitness..

Hi @vingiglow I can give you some insight about "what is going on with Google" and Fitbit. I joined many years ago and I had a Fitbit account. Google bought Fitbit in 2021. In 2023 it announced that users need to migrate to Google accounts, new users had to set up Google accounts, and any devices released after a certain date required a Google account.
Your email address is your account identifier. A Fitbit account could use any email provider. Many current users don't use Google and are upset that they need to create a Google account and migrate. As a new user, you will need a Google account to use any Fitbit you buy.
The Charge 6 has some hardware that you might not want. It has an ECG app and a stress management tool. On the plus side, the Charge 6 can broadcast your heart rate to certain fitness equipment. The other more minimalist watch is the Inspire 3. It doesn't have that hardware, but it doesn't broadcast heart rate. You can compare models at the Google Store.

Hello @vingiglow! Welcome to our community forums!
Thank you for your interest in the Charge 6.
If you'd like to start tracking your activities and workouts, Fitbit is a great option. Since you need a device that isn't too large, I think the Charge 6 is a good choice. Additionally, if you want to later on, it also has the option to receive notifications.
In the following link you can see all the specs about the Charge 6
