New Charge 6 won’t set up

I had my new Charge 6 arrive yesterday. I started to set it up, charged it, downloaded the app, did everything it said. It synced to my app fine but when I tried to update it couldn’t do it. It says it’s connected but it just keeps buffering and no progress bar appears on anything. It then says it wasn’t able to update, try again. I’ve gone through other posts and tried multiple other things, pressed the button on the charger, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, uninstalled the Fitbit from the app, restarted my phone, you name it, I’ve tried it. The Fitbit just keeps alternating between saying to download the app, a picture of a phone with a download symbol in it or the time. I don’t know what else to do other than return it and give up on a Fitbit. Any help would be greatly received

A warm welcome to the community @fifinaif

Thank you for taking the time to share with me all this information regarding the difficulty that you are experiencing with Charge 6. Thank you for trying to fix it on your own.

Please confirm that you already tried to restart the device as indicated here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

In addition, try to perform the following steps:

1. Open the Fitbit app.
2. Tap the account icon in the top left corner.
3. Choose 'Add more devices.'
4. Select the picture of your Charge 6.
5. A message will appear that says 'replace your Charge 6,' tap OK.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
