Not getting texts on my phone or notifications of calls

I think I screwed up and denied permissions to let my Fitbit show messages or phone calls but I can't seem to find the permissions to change it.

Hello @IAKat

Sorry to see that your notification permissions are a little wonky. This page has information on How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitibit? (<-- click link). Hopefully, the info will help you get your notifications set up and working on your Charge 6.

Let us know if you have questions or would like some additional guidance.

Thanks, I have made a little progress, I had a Charge 2 that I would get my messages on and would alert me to phone calls but I'm thinking this one doesn't or I still have something blocked like a permission. I get no notifications. Am I missing something?

The charge 6 also has those features. If all else fails (and you tried the guide posted) you could always unpair the device and uninstall and reinstall the app

Might have to try that if I can figure out how. Tough when you have a smart watch that's smarter than you. Thanks Kathy

Hi @IAKat

Your Charge 6 should be able to notify you when you have a phone call and let you see your messages, like your Charge 2 did.

You said you made a little progress. What were you able to do? If you're an iOS user, you may need to check the permission settings on your phone.

If you want to try to remove your Charge 6 from the Fitbit app and set it up again as a new device:

  • Open the Fitbit app and perform a manual sync so you don't lose any data.
  • Tap on the device icon in the upper left to open the Connected to Fitbit page
  • Tap on the trash can icon on the Charge 6 tile to remove your device. Confirm that you want to delete it.
  • Now you should be able to add your Charge 6 back to the Fitbit app

Let us know if there's any other information we can help you with.

How do I do a manual sync? I never changed anything yet this morning my calls are now coming through but not my messages. Crazy.

Hi @IAKat

Thanks for letting us know that you're now getting your call notifications. Hopefully, you'll soon see notifications for your messages, too.

To do a manual sync:

  • Open the Fitbit app on your phone.
  • Place your finger anywhere on the page and pull down slightly until you see "Release to sync" at the top of the Today page.
  • Remove your finger. The app will sync to your Fitbit and update your data.
