Not picking up my steps

ANSWERED

I've had my FB for several weeks.  On most days I'm good for a minimum of 5K steps, and some days much higher.  My weekly recap isn't picking up my steps accurately - and that's an understatement.  It's counting hundreds of steps at best, not thousands.  Anyone with similar experience or a solution?  Thanks.

Hi @east_ender

Your FB should sync with the app when you open the app on your phone. If the numbers don't match after you open the app, you can do a manual sync in the app by pulling down on the Today page and letting go.

If you're not syncing with the Fitbit app a few time a day, that could explain why your step count is off in your weekly email report.

Hello @east_ender

Let's see if I'm understanding your issue correctly.

Your daily step count correctly shows on your Charge 6 and in the Fitbit app. However, the weekly recap in the Fitbit app does not correctly add up your daily step counts.

Is this correct? If not, would you please provide some more information so we can try to help you.

You have it correct. Per my "weekly progress report" sent via email on
1-2-24, I clocked under 5K steps for the whole week, with an average of 711
steps per day. These numbers are way too low.
Thank you.

Thanks for responding @east_ender .

Does your weekly total & average steps in the Fitbit app match what is in the weekly progress report? Is the weekly email report the one that is incorrect?

Frankly, I really don't refer to the app. I look at my FB to see how I'm
doing on a daily basis. According to my FB, I walked just over 6K steps so
far today, which seems about right. But, according to the app just now,
it's saying that I've walked 54 steps today. I've assumed that my phone
and FB automatically sync, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thank you.  I'm not sure I'm too keen on having to sync at all, much less a few times a day, but if that's what it takes then I'll give it a go.  I wonder if other devices (like a Pixel watch) require this step - something I'll have to look into.

Hi @east_ender

All the Fitbit devices and the Pixel watches need regular syncing between the device and the Fitbit app for your tracked data. Syncing ensures your tracked/recorded data is uploaded to your account in the Fitbit servers.

You can probably get away with syncing twice a day - morning and night. Morning sync should give you your sleep data. Nighttime sync should give you your steps & AZM.
