Hi @1903sprfld I personally don't pay any attention to rest recommendations.

I am 64 and lift weights every third day, and bike 10 miles or more about daily. Two days ago the app told me to rest. I spends hours digging up yew bush stumps, and rode 20 miles that day. The following day it said my readiness score was 88.

IMO it seems to be alot based on resting heart rate. If my heart rate showed higher than usual overnight it'll suggest resting. I certainly don't blow off training days due to the app.
