Being a YT Premium member I was really looking forward to this app but after trying it the experience is not very good.
- It seems like Google focused on playback controls. This one is a head-scratcher for me given that most people can use the playback controls on the phone, Siri (iPhone), or headphones (if walking or exercising).
- You can't access your YTM library in your phone's YTM app. I want to select an artist in my library and hit Shuffle play. This can't be done. I have to find an artist in the YTM phone app and hit Shuffle Play. If I want to control the phone app with the Charge 6 I have to connect to the phone's YTM app. This however is unnecessary given that I can control the YTM phone app with my Powerbeats Pro earbuds.
- All you can do in the Charge 6 is play the current song on the YTM app on the phone, play a song from the recent played songs list and access songs from a couple of YT created workout playlists which I did not create or use.
- The connectivity to the phone is also unreliable. ~ 50% of the time hitting the Play button on the Charge 6 does not recognize the phone app. This requires multiple retries (which doesn't work most of the time), relaunch the YTM app on the phone or turn bluetooth on/off on the phone so that the Charge 6 can connect to the YTM app on the phone. My Powerbeats Pro connection to my phone for playback controls is far...far more reliabe than the Charge 6->YTM phone app
