New to Fitbit, new to running, apologies in advance for the newbie questions.
I want to plot a 5km run on Google Maps which I can then use to get directions from the watch when I'm out running.
Googling the question bombards you with lots of seemingly complicated methods utilising any number of third party apps and websites.
Wondering if there's a nice simple way...

@Burn53y Hey there, this is not an option. You can't use the exercise function and Google Maps on your watch at the same time. You'd have to pick either the run to show on your device or Google Maps, unfortunately. I tried testing it by starting a Google Maps walk and that did show on my Charge 6, but then you can't exit that screen to get to the walk/run options. And if you start a walk/run on your watch and then try to pull up Google Maps, it does not load to the watch with a walk/run currently taking place.

Hi @Burn53y ! We're here to answer all you newbie questions. I have an idea for you that doesn't involve plotting in advance. You can set a distance goal before you start your run. When you select Run on your Charge 6, swipe up and select Goal and choose distance. If your Charge 6 is like my Luxe and you normally measure in miles, there is a 5k option in the distance. Your Charge 6 will vibrate when you get halfway, so you can run out and back. It will also vibrate at your goal. You aren't stuck to the same route every day.
If you're like me and value your sanity, swipe up a little more and toggle off the Heart Zone Notifications

@Burn53y not possible with Fitbit. You'd need watch like Garmin, Suunto or Coros which support in-watch navigation using supplied GPX route.

I used that option for a run however without a route, when I get to halfway I don't necessarily know my way back!
Can I not upload runs into Google maps?

Really disappointing if that's the case.

@Burn53y sorry, you need a different watch for that purpose. Most of GPS watches with satnav use own maps (much better than Google Maps because they include hiking, running, skiing, cycling and other types of off-road paths which Google Maps doesn't) and they display map on screen (cheaper watches with not enough memory to store offline maps display only route but this is often enough, a few years back I was using Suunto Spartan watch which displayed route only and that still worked for me), route and give turn-by-turn directions. To return, they also store "breadcrumbs" trail so you can backtrack own steps. I use that a lot (I run trails and design my routes first and it's necessary features when I travel abroad and run in unfamiliar places). Simply, no Fitbit can do it. You need more dedicated watch.

I tried the very same thing yesterday, kind of makes the watch redundant if you can't have a run and maps going at the same time.
Thanks anyway.
