Sleep score vs goal

Your info on how a sleep score is calculated states:

Time spent asleep and awake, compared to your goal.

so how much will my sleep score change based on the goal I set? Will the score be different if I choose a goal of 7 hrs vs. a goal of 8 hours? And if so, by how much does that impact the score?

Or, is that statement not completely accurate and the score is not dependent upon the goal that you set for yourself?

if it matters, I use your Charge 6 product.

Thanks,

Dan

Hello @Liveaudiomix and welcome to the Community.  I read that, too.  That wording seems to be new since Fitbit updated the sleep portion of the app.  I personally don't think that your sleep goal makes a difference.  First, setting a sleep goal is optional.  Once you set a goal, you can change it, but you can't delete it.  Users used to be able to delete a sleep goal completely.  Second, if you change your sleep goal (let's say from 7 hrs to 8 hrs), it doesn't apply the change to just new data.  It changes it for all your data.  I changed my goal from 7 hrs to 8 hrs.  I went from meeting my goal to not meeting my goal for last night and my sleep score didn't change.  Also, that 8 hr goal got applied to all my sleep data going back to 2016, when the sleep score was introduced.

Just one experienced user opinion.
