Sleep stages missing for months

I used to get regular sleep reports including sleep stages with my previous Fitbit Sense watch.  About 3-4 months ago, I stopped getting sleep stages and only found sleep pattern (asleep, restless, awake) in the app.

I tried everything I read to try - switched wrists, wore it on the inside of wrist, looser, tighter, uninstalled fitbit app, even reset to factory.  And at best I sometimes received a single night of detailed sleep stages.  I ended up buying a Charge 6 just because of this, but the lack of sleep stages continued with the new device.  EKG reading showed as normal, heart rate showed data throughout the night, I have pale skin with no tattoos or scaring in that area.  Clicking on the sleep report gives no indication of anything wrong, just no sleep score and no sleep stages shown.  I generally have a very slow heart rate during sleep, dipping into the 40s, and use a CPAP, but that has never caused issues with various Fitbit devices in the past.  Most nights, I'm "asleep" for at least 7-8 hours, where I'm not awake or tossing and turning excessively.  A couple weeks back, I was sick and slept over 12 hours straight one night, but the fitbit said I only slept 5 hours during that period.

Any suggestions for something else to try?  I've already ruled out the device (same problem with two separate devices), the app (uninstalled many times and I've seen at least 1 update I can recall during this period), and the way I wear the device.  There's not much more I can think of trying?

Thanks,

-Sean

I just downloaded all of my data from Google for my Fitbit, and I'm even more confused now.  Under Fitbit/Sleep Score/sleep_score.csv, I see scores and deep_sleep_in_minutes for a wide range of dates, but not all dates.  Looking in the app, it seems to agree with the file and the only dates I see deep sleep, sleep score, etc are the days with data, so that's consistent, at least.  But the past few nights, I've spent over 7 hours in bed unconscious, and there are no numbers in the file for those days.  (Again, agreeing with the data file I downloaded).

Similar data is present under Fitbit/Global Export Data/sleep-[date].json.  There's data for the dates I get a score, and no data for all other dates.

But I still see heart_rate-[date].json for the missing dates, so it's recording data on the missing dates.  Looking in one date specifically, I see bpm values that are all over the place while I'm sleeping.  bpm in the low-40s to high-100s with confidence of 1-2.  Is my watch misreading bpm and interpreting all that time as no sleep?  It's either that or I'm taking walks around town in my shorts.  (I'm not)

Any ideas what's going on?  Thanks,

-Sean
