Steps not accurately showing in app

My Fitbit charge 6 wouldn’t synch today. I tried all the tricks and after probably 20 attempts it synched some of the data (correct calories, battery power) but not the steps showing on my device. An hour later my device now shows the inaccurate step count from my app!  Prior to that my Fitbit showed my true step count of over 16,000 steps and now it and my app show only 6,973 steps. Not cool!  How to fix this and be sure it doesn’t happen again.

Hello @NonniC

Are you an Android or iOS user? If you're an Android user, have you had a chance to update your Fitbit app yet?

There was an on-going issue for some Android users where they had problems syncing their Fitbits with the app. Many users reported that updating their app to version 4.28.3 resolved the issue.

If you haven't updated your app, that would be the first thing to try.

Hello @NonniC

Thank you for letting us know that you're an iOS user.

There is a known sync issue on the Fitbit side that is affecting some iOS users. This has been escalated to the appropriate team and they are working on fixing the problem.

I expect this will be fixed through an app update, similar to what was done for Android and should be announced in the iOS platform forum (<-- click link). Keep monitoring that forum and the app store for the update.
