Steps on device and in-app are different

ANSWERED

As you can see above the step count on the device and in the app are different.

The screenshot is immediately after a "successful" sync.

My charge 6 is updated with the latest firmware and the app is also fully up to date.ive restarted both my phone and watch.

Which one is correct and why won't they sync?

OK I've figured this out. It must be a setting I chose when setting this up, but this is how I fixed it...

On the Today screen, click the little edit/pencil icon:

Scroll all the way down to very bottom of the Customise screen and click "Open Health Connect settings":

Make sure "Show data from Fitbit only" is checked:

And now your steps should be showing as per your watch:

To be honest it's a little confusing. I'm not sure why the data from Health Connect is taking priority over the watch, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change this so if you do want to see data from Health Connect on your Today screen, you'll just have to accept the steps won't match your watch.

Hi Gfyans, I am having the same issue with my new Charge 6. I tried to follow your solution. When I click on the pencil,  I don’t see Open Health Connect / Health Connect option. Perhaps this is only available with Premium?
Thanks

No I don't think it's a premium only feature, as I don't have premium any more and I can still see it. Did you scroll all the way down to the bottom after clicking the pencil icon?

Thanks for your reply, gfyans. I believe I know why I don’t see that option. I have not downloaded Health Connect app so this is why it is not showing up on my Today dash.
Thanks again,
