Strava sync issue

I have just bought the new charge 6 to log data in Strava as I didn’t want to carry my phone when running or at classes . The band data uploads immediately to Fitbit App but nothing in Strava at all . I’ve checked the band has in built GPS active and tried to export TX file as well to no avail . HELP what am I doing wrong

Just read that each time you choose an exercise you have to scroll to enable active GPS each time ! Despite it showing on in general settings . I will test this to see if it resolves the problem

Let me know if this solves your issue! I have the same issue with other workouts not syncing to the Strava app...

I bought the watch Oct 18th and it will not upload to Strava. Fitbit customer service has me chasing my tail. They keep telling me its Strava's issue. I have explained several times that if I record an activity with Fitbit app or my old watch, it will upload to Strava with no issues. The only problem is with the new Charge 6. They keep sending me in circles and refuse to admit the problem is with the charge. I've asked several times to speak with a supervisor and they told me no. I received emails from people claiming to be supervisors and they keep saying to contact Strava. Strava has told me there is no issue on their end because the old watch works and the fitbit app works.

I regret buying another fitbit, so disappointed

@HannahAS If you don't want to use your phone then it means you want to use built-in GPS when running. Charge 6 GPS is bad and may not connect at all. The only setting that works for me is 'Phone' mode for GPS but that requires you to carry your phone with you. I have never managed to record the run with GPS using built-in GPS (or even 'Dynamic' mode) and eventually gave up on it and now I use only 'Phone' mode. For classes (I believe they are indoor) the GPS won't be in use and those activities will not sync to Strava. There are only a few types of activities that may sync and some of them, despite the ability to use GPS (ie. Interval Workout) do not sync to Strava. The Strava support is very limited on the Fitbit platform. Can you clarify what you mean by not being able to export the TCX file? Is it that it doesn't export or downloads almost empty (just with some initial headers)., The first option occurs for activities like "Interval Workout" and it's been broken for years. The latter means you haven't got a GPS connection working and no GPS data has been recorded.

@Joe430 make sure GPS connects. Do not use "built-in" or "dynamic" modes. Use "Phone" and have your phone with you.

I have the exact same issue with my charge 5. I could not seem to figure it out but now I see it’s a more general problem I’ll stop trying. And I don’t know why would I synch Strava to Fitbit and not the other way around. If that was the case why would I even need a Fitbit it doesn’t make sense.

I hope they try to do something about it but I don’t think they will sadly.

I have had this issue for the past week (since moving to gmail account). I have disconnected and reconnected several times... but no data is coming in to Strava at all.  I have also tried to manually upload each run - to no avail. There is definitely an issue FITBIT side! it cannot be a coincidence that this happened following the migration to google account!

Hello @TANM12

There was an issue on the Fitbit side that affected data syncing between Fitbit and 3rd party apps. The team is aware of the issue and has been working on a fix.

That said, there's an update for the Android Fitbit app, ver 4.26.1, that started rolling out today, 25 Sep 2024. I got the update this morning. At least 1 user reported that the iOS Fitbit app update started rolling out yesterday (24 Sep 2024) Although I haven't seen confirmation, I'm hoping that this update fixes the 3rd party data syncing issue.

The app updates tend to rollout in waves. If you don't see the update right away, keep checking.

I am still having the same issue and STRAVA support tell me that it is an issue with FITBIT.

Message from Strava:
Im seeing a lot of error messages from your uploads - The file has too few data points.
More Information

When I open the activity file in my admin tools, the files do not contain any data:
It appears there is an issue with your Fitbit. Are you able to contact their support?

Hi @RiekoC - Its now Jan 25... and the sync is still not working. Strava point me back to FitBit issue.   Can you please advise what is happening with the roll out of the Strava sync fix please? This has gone on way too long now. Are Google no longer fixing FitBit luxe issues?

I am now seriously considering moving away from FitBit after 10+ years... can anyone recommend an alternative to the LUXE? (Ie slim, elegant design and not a bit plastic "watch" type) ... I am actually considering a health ring.
