My Fitbit app says I’m in the wrong time zone. My phone is set to Atlantic time it Fitbit says I’m in GMT. If I disable the automatic selection and scroll down to my time zone when I click it the tick stays for 2 seconds then disappears and it goes back to GMT.

Hello @Its_enaj
Sorry to see that you're having problems with the timezone.
Have you had a chance to check your Fitbit social profile in the app to confirm it has the correct location?
- Tap on the You tab at the bottom of the Today page
- Tap on Edit profile under your name & account info
- Scroll up to see Social profile. It should show your location in the US. If not, tap on Edit to the right of Social profile to open the page & correct the location.
You might also try clearing the cache for the Fitbit app on your phone to see if that will let you correct the timezone.

Hi @RiekoC and welcome @Its_enaj to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!
Thank you for your contribution @RiekoC.
@Its_enaj, the changes you are attempting to do, are you doing them in the Fitbit app?
Check the instructions below to modify the timezone of your Fitbit device:
- From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture Fitbit settings.
- In the App Settings section, tap Date, time & units.
- Tap Time Zone.
- Turn off the Set Automatically option and choose the correct time zone.
- Sync your Fitbit device.
If the time is still incorrect, log out of the Fitbit app, and then log back in before syncing again.

Tried this option before coming to the forum but when I try to select the correct time zone the tick comes next to it then disappears. When I go back to the time zone I see it has returned to etc/UTC (GMT) I’ve tried multiple times to switch to another time zone. Some work (mostly those in Europe) but the ones in my current time zone don’t.

Hi @Its_enaj, thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear you are still finding trouble setting your time zone properly.
Make sure your Fitbit app is up to date by following the instructions in our help article How do I use the Fitbit app? > How do I update the Fitbit app?
In addition, i noticed you mentioned that you usually don't have a problem with the timezone in your previous location. If you had to change the timezone and this one is not updating, try to restart your force quit the app and restart your mobile device if you haven't done so.
See the following article for instructions Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch.
