So updated iOS today to the latest version. This evening I synced my Fitbit charge 6. Suddenly my steps for the year, my last years steps, and the year before (and probably the other years) have suddenly increased dramatically. I haven’t invented a Time Machine but last years average daily steps have jumped from around 9,600 to over 10,700. What happened and how do I get it back to what it was? My mobile isn’t connected as a tracker.

I have exactly the same issue (see https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-6/Fitbit-Charge-6-missing-data/m-p/5703603/highlight/true#M16...), but running android.
Got a lot of extra steps for free, but my body size did not change. 🤪
Anyway I hope they will fix this issue soon. Because it's the whole reason for me to have bought a fitbit...

I also have the same issue but on Android. My average daily step count went up by about 6-7 hundread for the last several years. I could see the numbers change as I was scrolling through the years. Keeping my steps is literally it's only job.
It's been going on for long enough that I have lost confidence in Fitbit and didn't buy a new one for my wife this Christmas and am instead looking at alternatives. I think it just went downhill once google bought them... as with most products that are bought out.
