'Unexpected Error' during account set up

Trying to set up my daughter's charge 6. She has just turned 13. She needs to first 'upgrade' her fitbit account to an adult account. Each time we enter the weight during the upgrade set up process, we get an "unexpected error - try again later" message.

I see that this is a problem that has been reported last year, but replies to that thread have been turned off. Is there a fix for this yet?

Same problem here - setting up for son who just turned 13  - upgrade process dies at add weight.  Have tried all of the 'solutions' on other threads but none seem to have worked.  FIX THIS in the APP - this is ridiculous it still hasn't been solved.  I can't see why the app is locked down to only alloy the children's devices for kids under 13 anyway.  Inspire 2 is the device I would like to add ....
