Unopened fitbit in hand luggage

I am going to gift my dad a new Fitbit, in its original box (as it came from amazon). I am flying with only hand luggage

Do you have any experience with that at the airport?

Trying to decide if its something i need to put in my tray or keep in my backpack? TIA

As far as I know, the Fitbit gift should be fine in your carry-on luggage. It will likely go through the scanner without issues.

Personally, I'd keep it in the backpack. If Security wants to see it, you have easy access to it.
