Workout Tracking Limits Heart Rate Reading

When I selected the "Spinning" excercise to do a HIIT workout on a stationary excercise bike, my heart rate would not go any higher than 85 on the fitbit, even though my heart was pounding like a race horse and I was completely out of breath while doing the sprint cycles. But if I don't select the excercise to track it, and set it to not come on automatically, then my heart rate climbs to where expected while doing a sprint cycle. Curious if anyone else has experienced this. I haven't tested any of the other excercises to see if they do the same yet or not. Will it really affect my overall scores if I'm not tracking these excercises? It's tracking my heart rate and duration of increased heart rate anyway. It certainly affects it negatively if I am tracking them, I can raise my heart rate higher than that walking to the kitchen to get another coffee!
