Workouts not registering on Charge 6

ANSWERED

I just bought a Charge 6. Since moving to it, my workouts that I start on the app aren’t being recognized. I can be actively walking or running, but the app no longer is not showing activity. Overall my steps are recorded on the device, but not within individual workouts.

Hello, @peblopeet, and welcome to the community.

Thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to the exercise tracking on your Charge 6.

Just to confirm, you're manually starting the activity on the exercise app on your Charge 6, right? My best recommendation for you would be to double check you're wearing the Charge 6 correctly and restart it.

Let me know how it goes once you've done this, please.

I do indeed know how to wear a watch, thank you. This is the fourth Fitbit I’ve had, and never had any issues until the Charge 6 and being forced to migrate to google. Do you have any other suggestions?

My Fitbit Charge 6 is not recording my workouts and heart rate. It recorded my heart rate for my walk this morning, but didn't record my workout. This evening, it didn't record my bike ride and heart rate. I did a hard reset on the Fitbit and restarted my Iphone. I am wearing my watch correctly.

Hello @flat

Are you manually starting & ending your workouts or are you using the Auto Detect?

So apparently today, they claimed they "released" another update for Charge 6.  The issues with their WebAPI still persists.  The Activity tile briefly looked fixed but the tile stopped recognizing any exercise (as in start, then do the exercise for 10+ minutes and stop on the watch/charge) and sync.  I talked to Support, with them giving the same standard response at first -- "restart charge 6, uninstall and reinstall app, pair charge 6..."  But then the reinstall of the app went back to the activity tile greying out.

Support claims no estimated up time or date.. But there are multiple issues with the programming

I am having the same problem and have gone through all the steps mentioned in this thread. I have tried both writing workouts into the app directly as well as my more typical starting a workout on the charge and ending it there. No workouts are showing up. This seems to have come up in the last week or so as the last logged workout was last Tuesday.

Any other ideas on how to approach this?

Thanks!

Hello @JHRosen

There is an issue on the Fitbit side that affects seeing exercise data in the Fitbit app. The team is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. Hopefully, it won't take too long for the fix to roll out.

For now, there's nothing that we can do on our side. As frustrating as it is, we have to wait for the fix to roll out.

Has the issue with the Fitbit Charger 6 been resolved?  Purchased a Charger 6 two weeks ago - experiencing the same problem as described above.

I'm with you, I've had a fitbit for 9 years, regularly upgrading every couple of years and I've never had any problems until August this year. It's been one thing after another. This week, none of calories out are showing on my food, my workout and steps didn't track yesterday, despite resetting, reconnecting, the usual routine fitbit spout. It is getting really frustrating. I think I'll be moving to Garmin over the next month, which I've never considered doing but I've had enough now. Their support is useless as it just tells you to restart, reconnect etc, which doesn't resolve the app issue.

Hello,

I finally managed to correct the problem after turning off Fitbit tracker
multiple times and deleting and then uploading the Fitbit app again.

Thank you

I am in the same boat - I’ve restarted the Fitbit & CONTRARY to what the directions state, I lost over 7K steps & other data, I’ve restarted the iPhone. Restarted the Fitbit again & it’s not recording steps - I know because I started using a walking app that DOES actually count steps. This is my 5th Fitbit device & I know how to wear it & use it. I tried to check the firmware to see if version is current - takes a while to find version now.  Mine isn’t recording properly, it seems to need more frequent charging than ever before.  Very disappointing!

I am having the same problem.  My Fitbit 6 is 7 months old.  It tracks my steps and heartrate, but not my Jazzercise classes or sleep.  This has been going on for almost a month.  I have reset many times to no avail.  It also stopped my text and phone notifications after 2 months.  I would like to return it under warranty, but havent found out how to do this yet.  Sadness.

Hello @angelroc

Here is the link for Support (<-- click) to start the warranty process. Complete the prompt in Step 1. Tap Continue in Step 2 (ignore Resources) to get to Step 3, which has the contact options.

Not sure this is a Charge 6 issue. Started having this issue with my Pixel 2 mid-summer. Bought the charge for additional bio sensors and hoping would resolve the issue. No luck. I count on my device to log exercise.  Spend too much time logging meals already. Maybe an issue with sync apps overwritten data? Not sure. The only reliable device is my CGM. Frustrating. Was excited about Pixel 4, but not if Google/Fitbit cannot get their act together. Lots of alternatives in the market these days.

Hello @robwaltersii

Would you please give us more details about the problem you're having with your workouts?

Are you using the auto-recognize feature and your workouts aren't getting tracked? Or are you manually starting & ending your workout, but not seeing the completed workout in the Fitbit app?

What troubleshooting have you tried, if any?
