What's the deal with the Charge 6 step count?
It's sooooooooo wrong! Does Fitbit have a fix for making it more accurate?

Hi, @KP5133 Welcome to the community.
Thanks for letting me know this situation with the step count on your Charge 6.
Fitbit devices use a 3-axis accelerometer to count your steps. This sensor also allows your device to determine the frequency, duration, intensity, and patterns of your movement. This means that if you compare the step count with other device, it may vary since they use a different technology.
By any chance, have you used other device to compare the steps? If not, can you explain in detail how did you notice the step count was not correct?
This information will help me further investigate this situation.

Mine had me 75K steps yesterday, 58K+ so far today. Way high.

I am also questioning the accuracy of the Charge 6. I just walked 2 miles on the treadmill and the Charge 6 has me at 3800 steps for the day.
I'm really questioning the 6. My Charge 4 recording seemed to be very accurate. I decided to upgrade to the 6, and other than the pretty color screen it appears to be a major step backwards.
Maybe there is a software update or something that will enable this Charge 6 to preform as well as my old Charge 4. If not, I'll have to decide which is more important to me, accuracy or a pretty screen.
Argh. Fustrating.

Had my charge 6 since Christmas Day and so far I’ve apparently logged over 50 miles in steps. Then realised just getting out of bed and walking downstairs logged 350 steps! Only have 12 steps on my staircase 😂!! So do I return it to Amazon for a refund or can it be recalibrated???
