mileage incorrect

ANSWERED

I have my daily goal set to 5 miles, but it doesn't recognize goal until i do 8 miles.   To solve the problem i have changed my goal to 3 miles a day and it now recognizes goal hit when i do 5 miles, but it shouldnt be like that...i have already uninstalled my charge 6 and updated the software and reinstalled but it didn't correct the issue.  Any thoughts??

@Gibbler - have you tried changing your units from feet/miles to centimeters, kilometers, syncing, and then changing back?

On the app go to profile picture (top right), fitbit settings, app settings, units, and then change the values.

Hopefully that will get it right.

@Gibbler this looks like a usual problem of unit conversion that somehow Fitbit wasn't able to get a grasp of it for many years. Seems like Fitbit mixes up km and miles and 5mi is 8km. Not sure how to solve that. I use km as my unit and the problem doesn't occur (Android app).

@Gibbler   This is a known bug in the Fitbit app.  It's a mile/km error.  It's been around for a while, so I don't expect a fix any time soon.
