sleep tracking - when sleeping in two installments

I slept for three hours last night, and then got up to help people get ready and out of the house. I then went back to bed for four and a half hours. It only tracked the first three hours of sleep. Can I ask it to give me sleep data for the rest of the time? Or in the future can I tell it I am trying to sleep so it will track it. If it can't handle a sleep interruption, which I believe is quite common, then it isn't going to work for me. Any suggestions on getting the Fitbit to work, or on an alternative product?

First thing: After looking at detail of first sleep period, scroll to the bottom of details and see if it lists another sleep period.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
