Its water resistant in other threads people say this wear of and they fail if you go in the sea with them and in the long term not a good a choice for swimming as far as can gather. I think they are meant to be waterproof but not Casio or apple watch water proof . I dont swim much I will wear in the shower or a bath. Not sure if that is a bad idea I wore my Huawei for 4 years and had no issues if the fitbit fails it fails If it cant withstand a shower or bath its not fit for purpose and I would end up not using it anyway if had to take it on and off all the time
