FitBit Ace LTE Cannot Add Parent Using Android Phone and No On Watch Settings Button

Two major issues -

Anyone in our life with an Android phone - Google phones to be exact, cannot download the app to be added as a parent/contact. I went through customer support and there was no answer. Seems like a compatibility issue.

Watch no longer has settings button. It has been replaced with games button. I tried to hold down top button for a few seconds and it only served to try to turn off or restart the phone. This also means I can no longer update the watch.

I am starting to regret the purchase. It works great for myself and my mom who have an iphone. Can't be used for those with an Android. Very frustrating and it seems like there won't be an answer until the software teams are made aware.

Hello @ToriNatelS

Please let us know which phones are having the issue with downloading the Fitbit Ace app. I have a Pixel 8 and was able to download & install the Ace app.

The Settings gear location was moved with the first firmware update. To access Settings:

  • Hold down the top/light grey button on the side of the Ace until the menu appears
  • When the menu shows up, swipe up to get to Settings

Hi!

So, the settings button does not appear regardless of how long I hold the top button down. The phone gives me options to shut down or restart. I had already tried that.

The Android phones are a Google Pixel 8 and a Samsung. I should have been a little clearer, they can download the app, but the app does not recognize that they have been invited and given permission to be a parent and contact. The app is acting as if they are wanting to pair an ace device rather than opening as a recognized contact. iphone is not having this issue. My mother was able to accept her invitation and download the app and be recognized as a contact without being asked to sign up an Ace device.

Hello @ToriNatelS

Thank you for the additional information about the issues with the phones. I'm going to ask around to see if someone can provide insight.

As for accessing Settings, after I hold down the top grey button on the Ace for several seconds, what I see are the tiles in this order:

  • Power off
  • Restart
  • Call for help (red tile)
  • Settings - this tile is located below the Call for help tile. I have to swipe up in order to see & access this tile.

Are you only seeing 3 tiles and don't see Settings below the Call for help red tile when you swipe up?

Hello @ToriNatelS

If you haven't already done so, please resend the invites and have the person open the link from the invite.

Please let us know if this resolved the issue.

Also, were you able to find the Settings gear on the Ace LTE watch?
