Hi there @Aaronvanmourik, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the inconveniences you've been having to install Phillips Hue on your Versa 3, I understand where your concern is coming from. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I'll be glad to help you.

To control your lights with your Philips Hue system and Fitbit watch, your Philips Hue system must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone, and your watch must be within Bluetooth range of your phone.

Note for Android users: Due to recent Android security changes, your local network must be using one of the following IP address ranges: 192.168.0.0/24 or 192.168.1.0/24.

To set up the Philips Hue app:

  1. Open the Philips Hue app on your watch.
  2. The app starts searching for your Hue bridge. When prompted on your watch, press the pairing button on your bridge to complete the pairing process.

To adjust your lights from your watch:

  1. Open the Philips Hue app on your watch.
  2. From the Rooms screen, tap on or off to adjust all the lights in each room. Up to 10 rooms are listed. If you have more than 10 rooms, use the Philips Hue app on your phone to adjust additional rooms.
  3. Tap the > icon next to a room to see the lights in that room.
    • Tap the checkbox next to each light to turn it on or off.
    • Swipe left to view the Scenes screen. Tap a scene name to set it.

If you continue to have issues to install Philips Hue, please move onto these troubleshooting steps:

  1. For apps to access the internet, your phone must be nearby with the Fitbit app running in the background and Bluetooth turned on. Many apps require internet access.
  2. Check if the app has a pending update. For instructions, see How do I install and manage apps on my Fitbit device?
  3. Turning off app permissions can cause the app to stop functioning. Check that all permissions are turned on:
    1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Apps.
    2. Swipe to find an app on your device, and tap to open it.
    3. Tap Permissions.
    4. If any permissions are turned off, turn them on. Note that some permissions can cause your phone to use more data.
    5. Tap Save.
    6. If you see a caution icon next to the app in the My Apps tab, check the following permissions on your phone:
      • Location services must be turned on for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
      • Calendar access must be turned on for the Fitbit app:
        • On iPhones, open the Settings app on your phone > Fitbit > make sure Calendars is turned on.
        • On Android phones, open the Settings app on your phone > Apps > Fitbit > Permissions > Calendar > make sure the access is set to Allow.
        • On Windows 10 phones, open the Settings app on your phone > Privacy > Fitbit > make sure Calendar access is turned on.

Hi there @wick3dm4tt, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I'll be glad to help you to install Philips Hue on your Versa 3. I appreciate your time and efforts in troubleshooting this prior to posting here.

It might be best to try to reinstall the Hue app on your watch by selecting 'Remove' from the settings found in the Hue Lights app within the Fitbit app. Once it is removed, you can install it again from the 'All Apps' section of the app gallery.

To clarify, your phone (not just watch) will have to be paired to the same Wi-Fi network as your Hue bridge. I would also double check to make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

You can then start the setup process from the Hue app located on your watch face (do not start from within the Hue Lights app). You will then be given the correct prompts to finish the setup process.

Also, make sure that Hue bridge's software is up to date. You can update the bridge's software by navigating to the settings tab of the Phillips Hue production app (not the Fitbit version).

I would recommend taking a look at this article, as it is full of great tips and best practices on how to set up apps on Versa 3.

I also wanted to let you know that I've moved your post to Fitbit App Gallery for organization purposes.

Hi Guys,

I was having issues with connecting to my Philips Hue Bridge from my watch for a few days, reading many posts, it figured it out!

A few things I initially changes was to manually set the DHCP to Static IP within the given 0/24 range, and set this for the Bridge in the Hue App and then on my Phone IP using advanced WiFi settings.

So with the Hue app installed on my Versa 3, I clicked on the Bridge circular button to initiate a pairing connection.

Without this, neither the Bridge or the Watch will be able to connect together.

Remember you would have had to do this when you connected your bulb to the bridge!!

I'm now connected and loving life!

Enjoy ☺️
