I downloaded the update yesterday and installed some of the new apps offered. Since installing the apps on my Ionic I've noticed once they're installed they don't sync new information. For instance:
1) New York Times: Hangs on "Checking for new stories...". Never shows any stories
2) Flipboard: After install does not show any new stories. Even if you change the topic in the settings on the Fitbit App.
3) Leaderboard: Does not update after install.
4) AstroFit: Leaderboard does not update
Is this a common problem? I've removed the device from my phone and re-added it. Reinstalled the Fitbit App. Did the hard reset. Still the issues persist.

Agreed. Seems a lot of things are no longer syncing... Weather is not, Fitboard is not... That's all I have on it so far.

Thank you, I left out the weather issue. Yes. I am having that problem as well.

Similar experience for me. I can be checking the leader board app and all of a sudden the screen switches to "hmm check fitbit app to make sure Bluetooth is turned on" or something to that effect. If I need to keep checking the fitbit app then I may as well just look at it in the first place.

And since we're on the topic of things not updating, I notice the heart rate and the steps on the Android phone app no longer show active values.. it's static showing only the resting heart rate value, and the last step value. It used to change. Might be I am just noticing this after the last app update.
Live data was off.... Never mind.

Was suggested to do a factory reset (of course, that's always the last option anyone wants to do). I will do so in a couple of hours and let you know.

I just did a factory reset and only weather app started working again. New apps aren't syncing -- and even at least one new clock face stopped working. I had to reinstall one of the old clocks.

Got home last night. Turned the WiFi on, on my phone. Everything worked great. Leader boards updated. New York Times posted articles. Finally worked as it was supposed to. Turned WiFi off and nothing worked. So, does WiFi need to be on in order to use Ionic apps?

I can no longer sync using my Android App. I have an iPhone I for use work and I paired the tracker with the iPhone. The sync happens instantaneously with that mobile device. The Android just keeps looking and looking and cannot sync within an acceptable period of time.
I didn't have this problem with the previous Fitbit Android App. It had trouble syncing then, but did so within 10 minutes. This is very aggravating.

I'm at work, no Wi-Fi and everything seems to be working now; Flipboard, Weather... well, that's all I have on the phone atm. I reckon the Factory Reset I did last night cleared up the issue for me. (Your mileage may vary.)
