It is understandable that someone chooses an item amongst the very many in the gallery and rates it 5 stars (or 4 stars at worst).
However there seems to be NO logic for rating it less.
If you go to the trouble of selectiing a FREE item, why rate it with 1 star?
And for users who do this:

Hmmmmmm, @Guy_ why does anyone rate the way they do? Sometimes people don't rate simply because it's not required, so they don't bother doing it. I can't see someone intentionally giving a lower rating just to degrade the overall score. For myself, if I'm going to rate something, I don't want to jump through so many hoops. If prompted to give a rating or to explain why I made a lower rating or asked to re-rate it later, I'd ignore it. Shouldn't it be up to the developer to watch the ratings and read what people say about their clock face? Most just want to use or reject it, but not to explain why. Let the rating system to be your guide. Sometimes people leave quite a long review, so that must make up for the lack of other's leaving it.

Thanks, Tend to agree @Odyssey13 though still puzzled as to why someone bothers to give a rating of one star. What is the motivation?
5 stars is understandable, the person is pleased to have found what they are looking for, but 1 star, obviously not what the person wanted so why did they choose it in the first place when there are so many others to choose from, doesn't seem logical.
Personally it must must be a rating issue - if you start adding stars, as soon as you add 1 start that's the rating completed. It doesn't give you time to add the other stars [for the people who see it that way] - wouldn't a reminder for those people be a good idea to give them a second chance to get it right, if they are still using it.
And where do you find clock face reviews? Is there some place to get to those?
Probably only 1 in 8 people bother to rate anyway but it would help clarify the case of the mystery 1 star.

To me, a review is the written portion someone leaves other than the star rating. Perhaps I've gotten the terminology wrong? One star might just mean the person didn't like it as much as they thought or the description lead them to believe it was something different from what it actually was. Maybe a person leaving one star didn't like it as much as they did the clock face that they rated a four. It's really hard to understand people and what they do! Since I'm not a developer, this is the way I feel, as the user of something and not the creator of it.

There isn't a place for a review unfortunately.
Still confused, if the face does what the description says and looks like the image presented, how does that merit 1 star, at install time !!?
I'm a developer and the majority of my ratings are 5 stars but curiously very occasionally a 1 star pops up.
Very much doubt people would ever bother to go back and rate it [proof, <1% ever change], and most don't even bother to rate it at install time.
But for the thoughtful people who do bother am puzzled why they would bother to give 1 star before they have tried it.
Still tend to think it makes more sense to be a rating issue rather than a product dissatisfaction.
They obviously wanted to rate it and perhaps got the wrong rating and its certainly not easy to know you can change it or find how to change it, hence in these cases a cross check reminder would be good, if they continue to use it.
