Strava Authorization state: Not Authorized

Hello.

I got my Ionic a few days ago and I have a bit of a problem with getting Strava app to work. I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question or it should be posted in Windows phone app section.

This is my hardware:

Fitbit Ionic

Windows 10 mobile on Microsoft Lumia 950 XL

When I open settings of Strava app on my phone Fitbit app, I click on Authorize and then I'm asked to log in with my Strava loggin passwords. I do that I'm shown another window (picture 2) where I can click on authorize or cancel. I click on authorize and then I'm thrown back (picture 1) to Strava app settings and it says it's not authorized.

I can authorize Strava - Fitbit connection if I do it on my PC on a Fitbit dashboard there. Then Strava is authorized and data from my run activity was transfered to my Strava account.

But the app on my Ionic just say "no recent activity" as it still says on my phone app that Strava isn't authorized.

How can I make this app working?

Its working in that the data is now being logged from my Ionic to Fitbit and Strava dashboards, and after it has appeared in those apps on my phone, and I have initiated a manual sync between the iphone fitbit app and the Ionic it then shows up in the Ionic Strava app too.

On the other hand the fitbit mobile app clearly isnt working quite as intended as it still indicates that the strava account is "not authorised", even though the data is going back and forth somehow...  After it stopped working I re established the link through strava.fitbit.com, maybe thats the critical step.   It still shows as unauthorised on my iphone, but on the web dashboard at fitbit.com its shows read write enabled.

At least my data is being collected to analyse  For me having that Strava data show on my Ionic is not a big deal as my eyes are too crap to make out much of it without my glasses on!  But at least for me there is a way to get it there...

Well stated @Iain_K I was trying to articulate the issue I was having and see you have explained it precisely (although I didn't realise it was the manual sync that allowed the information to show on my Ionic. Thanks)

I have the same situation as @Iain_K .  The phone app still says "not authorized" but the data now seems to be syncing again with the app on the Ionic.  In the year+ that I've owned the Ionic, the capability to see runs in the Strava app on the watch has never worked reliably even though my runs regularly transfer between Fitbit and Strava in the background.   Frankly, there's little value with the app and it's much easier to look at run info using the Strava app on my phone.

Not working for me. The strava app on my Versa is saying not authorised. On strava website it is showing as linked to Fitbit account. No exercise data is getting synced to strava. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the Versa a couple of times. I have tried to authorise the app on the Versa thru iOS as well as android.

@ask77 Only exercises with GPS data are actually uploaded to Strava servers from Fitbit. Are you maybe speaking about other type of exercises or tracked with GPS?

I'm having trouble with my strava account being "authorized" in my fitbit versa app-when I go to check it I click on the login and nothing happens...I've uninstalled and re-installed and nothing.

I have recently changed my phone from Samsung S8 to One Plus 6T. Post change I had sync issues and I had deleted and resynced fitbit ionic to my account. Since the change of phone I had issued with activities syncing to strava. I revoked authorization and also un-installed and reinstalled strava on fitbit ionic watch. The GPS tracked activities are somehow not syncing to strava. I have tried folowing steps

* Uninstalled strava on fitbit

* revoked authorization on fitbit dashboard on the fitbit.com site

* revoked authorization on strava.com

* unpaired and re-paired ionic to fitbit account

* installed strava again

* tried authorizing strava and I keep getting this error below

* tried authorizing multiple times thru fitbit android app on one plus 6T and desktop app on laptop but same error

Please guide and resolve the sync issues

Hello @Jbhagdev are you asking about the Strava account connecting to your Fitbit account?  This is where your Fitbit runs sync to your Strava account and your phones Strava App. Changing a phone will not affect the Strava/Fitbit Link. This link up is strickly in the cloud, not on the phone.

The screen shot provided is about the Ionic Strava app not your  Strava account.

Do you see the Aqua lStrava login? This is where you would login on your ionic Strava app.

 This however will not connect your Strava account with your Fitbit account.

About this login, two weeks ago it was not working and Strava did not have a timeline on the fix.

In short, I'm confused and not sure what is happening.

Is the problem on your Ionic or on the phone? The screen shot is of the strava app for the ionic.

Yes The problem is with Strava app on fitbit ionic.. it use to function
perfectly fine before the change of the phone. In new phone it just doesn't
authorize strava for syncing fitbit data.

Then it has nothing to do with the Fitbit app, the Strava app or the Fitbit Strava link.

The problem is with the Ionic Strava app and logging in?  As I mentioned above, Strava is aware of the problem and looking into it. As for the steps you mention above, none of these would be expected to work, since your issue is only with the ionic app logging into the strava account. If it is any consolation, in unable to log in also.

What happens when you tap authorize? Last week Strava said that there was an issue with the app logging in.Screenshot_20190210-112800_Chrome.jpg

Hello, I also have the same problems with the authorization issue.

Very strange because the sync with my ionic and strava always worked smoothly on my Motorola G5 phone, but since I switched to a Huawei Mate 20, I also can't get it working again.

Very frustrating because it has always worked fine  😕

I am having this same issue, have you had a reply with a fix yet?  Strava is the main app I use so this is really frustrating!

@Liam12 Welcome to the Community. Have a  check to see if Strava is authorised on the App on your Ionic.

To do this go into your Fitbit App on your phone and select your Ionic from the list of devices on your account, then tap on Apps, scroll down and tap on Strava, tap on settings. If it needs authorising  tap on authorise below. And then resync your Ionic.

That is where the user logs into their Strava account with the ionic Strava app.

I just tried again, it looks like Strava have been able to this login to work yet.

Ever since yesterday, there has been an issue with the strava app on my Samsung as saying data sync failed. Assuming that has been fixed by strava. Now when I go into the strava app on my android device to authorise it, it fails.  I have tried every attempt to fix this by uninstalling the strava app from my Fitbit account and reinstalling it to doing the same with the strava app on my phone and still no joy. All in all, the mobile Fitbit app will not authorise with strava and this is the screen. Can someone help? Screenshot_20190217-143105_Fitbit.jpg

@Rich_Laue I don't use the app on my Ionic, but I see what you mean now when you go to authorise it's down, so there has to be a a fault with it at the moment. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if it would make a difference, but this has not solved it. So it must be to do with the Fitbit Strava bridge software and I've just seen this thread over on the Ionic board.
