I believe Strava has been removed from the Fitbit Gallery..!! When will this be reinstated? Extremely disappointed that this has happened especially as I have just been given a Versa 3 to replace my old Versa.

Yes, Strava app has been discontinued long ago. However syncing between the two services is still functional and therefore all your GPS based sessions trackers via Fitbit can be automatically synced with Strava.

The app was not an official Strava app @SharBar and was removed at the request of Strava.

Actually it was official, developed by Fitbit with support and in collaboration with Strava.

Sorry @SunsetRunner fitbit wrote the app for the tracker, at the request of the users. This app accesses their API and was not written in collaboration with Strava.
The blog you point to is about a retired fitbit and mentions the fitbit / Strava link, which still exists. This link is managed by fitbit and was indeed setup in collaboration with Strava and. Is the only way Strava would be able to receive heart rate with an exercise.

Dear @Rich_Laue I have a tremend respect for your experience but here we are speaking about the old app that existed for Ionic (that I briefly owned before understanding a smartwatch wasn't for me) and then ported to Versa and Versa 2.
The blog speaks clearly about the app as quoted below
The Strava app on Ionic and Versa continues this shared mission by providing athletes with advanced tools, including Matched Runs, a feature that allows you to benchmark yourself against past performances on your most common routes—right from your wrist.
Considering that Strava was mentioned and highlighted in the press release by Fitbit I would really find strange that it was unofficial. Anyway that was my interpretation and I'm sure your knowledge as insider is much higher than mine. Sorry for having disturbed the flow of the discussion, you might want to have that and this posts deleted. Thanks

Tap open app on the site and then it will take you all the way back to the fitbit app where you should be able to reinstall the strava app.
