@noodlebit Welcome to the Fitbit family! I'm glad that at the end you were able to figure out what prevented your clock faces to change. Thank you very much for sharing your experience and workaround on this thread.
Also, I'm glad to hear that you are contributing to develop more clock faces for Fitbit Ionic, feel free to post once you have it ready!

@Denodan I hope you're doing well! Thanks for reporting this situation you are experiencing with the clock faces.
Could you provide a little bit more details about this? What do you see when you try to change the clock face? What error are you getting? Please share a screen shot of that if possible.
Also, when you are installing the clock faces, a red bar showing the progress of the download should appear. What happens when the bar completes?
How many apps do you currently have installed on your Ionic? Ionic can only hold up to 39 apps at a time. So, if you have 39 apps, that will be the reason why this is happening.
Try removing an app through the Fitbit App Gallery and then try to update the clock face. To update a clock face you cannot have more than 38 apps installed.
Try that out and keep me posted!

Hi @Denodan. When I had this issue the other day I turned wifi off on my phone, after that I was able to successfully finish installing the face. Not sure why that would make a difference but it certainly did for me. If you haven't already tried so, give that a go.

I'm having the same issue. Brand new ionic, opened it yesterday. Was able to change faces regularly.
I started developing my own watch face and have been unable to change back to a stock one after that. I can use fitbit studio and deploy my own successfully, but anything from the fitbit store doesn't work.
Steps:
- Select new watch face from fitbit store.
- Hit 'Install' button on store.
- Store downloads face
- Ionic vibrates and shows the diamond fitbit logo animation for a few seconds, then just shows the watch face I'm developing.

Left out a few extra debugging points:
- Have tried hard resetting (holding down all three buttons on the ionic), doesn't do anything.
- The phone fitbit app reports that the watchface I selected installed properly and lists it as my current face.
- Tried turning off wifi on my phone, still failed.
- Tried rebooting my phone, still failed.
Running Android 8.1.0.

Mine is working fine again. If you have 39 apps jnstalled you wont be able to install anything else.

Thanks for the response! I haven't installed any apps except what comes default on the device. I've tried installing a bunch of different clock faces, but I believe each time you install one it wipes the last one, so I'm not sure if this is my issue!

Figured mine out. It was due to the development clock face.
To fix this, I had to navigate on my phone's fitbit app to 'developer menu', then delete the development clock from sideloaded apps. I was then able to load other clock faces.
